The story behind SOMA
Our identity isn't lost when we connect with others. It expands.
Skin is our individual boundary and, at the same time, what connects us to the outside world. Through our relationships with other people, nature and our surroundings, we discover facets of ourselves we might never have found alone.
Its textures evoke three expressions of skin: the fingerprint, tree bark and elephant skin. Sultanite, with its ability to change color depending on the light, represents how context reveals different shades of our essence.
SOMA is born from this idea: we can be unique and part of something bigger at the same time.
Its modular system lets you explore different configurations, so the person wearing it takes part in transforming the piece.

A piece with one module, customizable in two formats: necklace, a piece you can wear close to you, or long earring, a piece that falls to neck level.
You choose the format you want to start with and the fingerprint or texture you want to include.
Option 2
3 modules: 12,000 MXN
Combine two or more modules and explore different necklace configurations. It's the option for those who want to experiment with more ways to wear it from the start.
Some marks identify us and others connect us with someone else.
In this edition you can personalize the piece's fingerprint so it represents something of your own, a bond or a memory.
Each personalization will be reviewed individually to confirm it is technically feasible. For other people's fingerprints, their consent will be requested before using them.
Every detail matters. Choosing the gem will be part of the SOMA experience. The gem for each piece will be personally selected, making sure it is part of the intention and identity of the design.

Modularity
SOMA was conceived around the possibility of connecting and transforming its components. The piece invites you to explore how one design can be expressed in different ways.
The three-module necklace can be worn four ways. In the one-module version, you can choose between a necklace and a long earring.
The possibility of expanding and connecting pieces opens a path of exploration for future La Chinaaf compositions. Compatibility between the earring, the necklace and other modules will be confirmed as each configuration is finalized.
